Pine Lake Annual Poker Run & Pontoon Picnic!
Get your boats ready for our favorite summer tradition!
When: Saturday, July 25th
3:00 PM: Cruise the lake! Look for docks with TIKI Umbrellas to collect your 5-card poker hand.
4:00 PM: Tie the boats together on the lake for our Pontoon picnic.
PRIZES for the best poker hands!
Food & Drink: The Association is providing hot dogs and bottled water.
Please bring a dish to pass and any other beverages you want.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! We still need more people to hang out on the docks and pass out cards. It is an easy, fun way to help out!

Fenton’s Pine Lake Homeowners Association – LAKE TREATMENT UPDATE
Dear Pine Lake Property Owners,
In response to questions and concerns raised by residents, the Board has established a dedicated email address to improve communication regarding lake treatments and lake health issues.

Opting Out of Treatment
If you wish to opt out of the recommended lake treatment for your property, please email PLT@pinelakelinden.org and include your property address along with your request to opt out. Properties that opt out will be removed from future treatment plans proposed by Tigris. Property owners may change their decision at any time by contacting the Board.
Treatment Participation
Unless we receive an opt-out request, shoreline areas will be treated according to the recommendations of our lake management company, Tigris.
Please note that treatment does not guarantee a completely weed-free shoreline. All treatments are performed in accordance with Tigris' recommendations and within the guidelines and permits established by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
Common Questions:
Will opting in or out of treatment affect my taxes? No. As lake residents, we all pay for the lake treatment service. We are simply providing residents with the option to skip their property during treatment if they choose.
Why didn’t I get a yellow sign when the lake was just treated? No yellow sign on your property simply indicates that the current treatment was not applied to your frontage. NOT necessarily that you are on the opted-out list. Yellow signs serve as shoreline treatment indicators. They vary based on your area’s particular treatment recommendations. Keep in mind yours may differ from your neighbors.
How do I know if I’m on the Opted-Out list? You may query your status anytime by using the dedicated email address provided. Unless you have specifically requested to be opted out, your shoreline will be treated as recommended.
Reporting Weed or Algae Concerns
If you are experiencing concerns with weeds, algae, or treatment results near your property, please email the details to PLT@pinelakelinden.org. The Board will review and communicate resident concerns to Tigris before scheduled treatment dates whenever possible.

The next tentative treatment dates are:
• Survey: July 22, 2026
• Treatment: July 29, 2026
Additional Algae Treatment Under Review
Due to the recent algae bloom, the Board is consulting with Tigris to determine whether an additional algae treatment is warranted before the next scheduled treatment cycle.
Any additional treatment will be based on Tigris' professional recommendation and scheduling availability. If approved, it will be scheduled so as not to interfere with July 4th holiday activities.
Oversight and Communication
The Board will continue to monitor treatments to ensure they are performed consistently with the approved survey and treatment plans.
We encourage residents to use the dedicated email address (PLT@pinelakelinden.org) for all questions, concerns, or feedback regarding lake treatments and lake health. This will help us communicate more effectively with both residents and Tigris.

Boat Access and Easement:
After investigation and research, there is not a way to launch your boat with any previous ways. Please seek alternatives. Ask a friend or neighbor if you can use their yard or pay them to launch your boat.
Harp Easement is deeded to some owners on Harp Drive. This is only for those deeded owners. This is for ingress and egress travel and cannot be used for dockage, permanent boat moorage, storage of equipment etc. The deeded owners said they would have a liability issue and since it’s a shared easement, they cannot allow others to use the easement.
Homeowners Responsibilities:
Review of Lake rules: No Speeding, Fishing Rules, need to have MC numbers on boats. Some concern over boats not being registered

Some boats have just been sitting there covered for years. Call ordinance at township about this.
For DEQ and permitting information 517-241-1554 or email DEQ-WRD-ANC@michigan.gov They should be contacted for permits for putting in sand etc.
If any landscaping or construction is being done, a barrier is required to be put up to prevent problems in the lake.
No raking leaves or putting grass clippings into the lake. The nutrient phosphorus from leaves fuels the growth of algae, including toxic algae. Also leaves, grass clippings and similar debris add nutrients to the water that use up precious oxygen as they decompose. There should be a buffer to keep Fertilizers out of lake. 50 feet from shoreline for property owner fertilizer application, 25 feet for Commercial Fertilizer application. See Ordinance Fenton Township #545.
If any problems on the lake, get Boat registration MC numbers, video the problem, if something actively happening can call 911 or Sheriff’s office there is a Marine Patrol out on weekends mainly that can come out and talk to the person. There were reported issues of a boat coming too close to other boats and harassing boats.

Board Elections: Chad Herrick is reelected President and Sue Ward, Secretary for 2-year term.
General Info:
There is a house on the lake that is a VRBO (Vacation Rental By Owner) and the township is considering the rules for these short term rentals and will determine what can and cannot do. Right now, they are not allowed to use and power boats, only kayaks or canoes.
There is a concern about some mud and debris draining into the lake near Whittaker and county park building. Homeowners can and should call drain commission or DEQ to have them fix this.
